Dan Glickman is a Kansan with a sterling reputation. As a former Democratic Congressman and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture for six years under Clinton, Glickman knows a thing or two about good agriculture policy and fighting for Kansas farmers.
It’s not surprising that he’s now criticizing Democrats, like Boyda and Dennis Moore, who voted to hold the Colombia free trade deal. As I’ve explained, Kansas farmers need markets now more than ever, and in unstable regions of the world, U.S. allies need our help now more than ever. According to the recent article,
“Glickman said approving the trade pact would encourage leaders of other countries to improve their economies and strengthen their Democracies. The former House Intelligence Committee member said he supports the Colombia deal for national security reasons, too.”
So the question still remains, if Nancy Boyda is as independent as she claims to be, why is she voting in lock-step with Democratic leaders on this bill and against U.S. national security and Kansas farmers? Maybe Kansas media could write a substantive story on this important issue? Perhaps try to figure out why prominent folks like Glickman disagree with Boyda? But then again, that would require tough journalism, and we all know Nancy Boyda has to be treated with kid gloves.

aww...poor republicans don't like the fact the media doesn't hate boyda as much as they do.
we're all playing tiny violins for you.
Are you deliberately trying to kill this blog? The long and boring listing of years of campaign contributions followed by a post on Columbia and the trade deal? Who cares? Todays posts are boring!
so, does anyone know if it's true Jenkins is going to drop out of the race to try to patch things up with her husband?
Last poster is delirious. There's no affair or marital problems and Jenkins is going to win in August and November. The last poster is just a Democratic hack trying to cause trouble because they don't want "Bad News Boyda" to have to run against a seasoned and popular state treasurer.
Actually, Jim Ryun and his wife have been happily spreading the untrue rumor about Jenkins for months. I wish we could blame it on Democrats, but it is in fact our good "Christian" Jim Ryun. Thanks Jim and hope you enjoy your none to early permanent retirement in August.
it isn't an "untrue rumor," folks- I'm a jenkins supporter, and will vote for her...but Scott doesn't live at the house anymore
oh, christ...he's not criticizing anyone, he's simply in disagreement.
He's also an authority on the ag. industry of 1995, not 2008. I know conservatives have a hard time dealing with it, but things change. Glickman's been busy fighting piracy instead of keeping up to speed on ag.

Eeeeeeeeasy, guy. Nobody said anything about an affair. But since you mentioned [read: volunteered] it, it makes us all the more suspicious.

I had no idea you supported the Clinton Administration's farm policies.
Kyle Robertson is just on here spreading nasty rumors because he knows Jenkins will kick Ryun's ass in August. Who's going to vote for a guy who wants to put huge holes in our border fences?
who wants to vote for a woman who wants to increase taxes?
is she even a republican still?
I'd rather have a guy who realizes we don't need to put a fence in the Rio Grande River than a woman like Lynn Jenkins who doesn't want to punish those who hire illegals.
Sure, whatever Kyle. Your "Jenkins doesn't have a plan for immigration" stuff isn't going to get anybody's attention. You know why else Jenkins is going to win? Cause you spend all of your times posting on blogs.
Patrick, honey, go back to answering the phones.
You political hacks can argue all you want, but us real people in the 2nd District know that the only way to stop illegal immigration is to punish employers who hire illegals. Lynn is against punishing employers, Jim is not. Game over.
i'd vote for lynn on immigration if it wasn't for her plan to increase SS taxes.
and that she's a baby killer.
and that she's a RINO
oh, so no, i wouldn't vote for her
I guess some of you only read blogs or you would know that your own conservative legislators in Topeka are the ones who watered down the immigration bill after being threatened by the KCCI and other employer groups. That's right, boys and girls, it's your own beloved conservatives.
