If you google, “Shanan Guinn”, the second link is a story that I broke 6 weeks ago regarding the $3150 in consulting fees that Shanan Guinn, Boyda’s Chief of Staff, has received from the Hillary Clinton campaign. Steve Kraske made a small mention of Guinn’s involvement on the campaign when he caught her on the Clinton bus back in Iowa this winter.
With recently disclosed itineraries from the First Lady’s activities in the late 90’s, which clearly accent the role that Guinn played in Clinton’s circle, as well as left-wing bloggers who have labeled Guinn as party of Hillary’s Staff, it is clear that Guinn has some explaining to do. Guinn is Nancy Boyda’s Chief advisor and decision-maker, and Kansans have a reasonable expectation to demand that she is open, honest and fully transparent about where she is receiving extra income.
I had an opportunity to communicate with various players involved in, but not working for, the Jenkins and Ryun campaigns this weekend. These individuals assured me that this issue, and many other black spots on Boyda’s record have “not been forgotten and will certainly get full airplay come the fall.” Whether or not Steve Boyda will be able to convince Nancy that the best course of action for her campaign is to have Shanan resign to "pursue other opportunities" is yet to be determined. What is certain is that together with Guinn, Boyda has made a few rookie mistakes and no amount of "Congress on Your Corner" events will be able to change that.
Who's looking forward to September and October? I know I am.

soo....new news? President coming to the Kansas 3rd? Jenkins/ Ryun polling? Roberts/ Slattery polling?
No? Oh, ok.
Who cares, Jenkins doesn't have a chance in the primary and Ryun doesn't have a chance in the general.
Lord, kids...you've got a wealth of topics to touch on and you dig up this foolishness?
we knew you were college kids, but we didn't know you were freshmen.
Rumor is Jordan is trying to call off his event with Bush because of new polling he's seen.
Anyone know more?
you know anon, if you're so interested in a post on bush coming to town or poll data, why don't you stop whining and start your own blog.
I emerged from my sleepy hollow this morning and I thought I'd remind our readers that Boyda's Chief of Staff is more interested in promoting Clinton's campaign than working for the people of Kansas.
Shanan Guinn is Boyda's biggest liability.
There is no way Boyda wins with Shanan on staff.
I wonder how long it takes for jenkins or Ryun to call her out on this potential conflict in interest?
ah, wild bill...that seems awfully kind of you....but you linked to an item from last year...even you aren't dumb enough to insinuate she is STILL working for Clinton...because you can't prove she has lifted a damn finger for her since she took vacation time and went to Iowa.
no, wild bill...i'm perfectly happy reading your pitiful blog...because it makes me happier and happier about Nancy Boyda's chances in November.
But I'll say again...why has this piss-poor blog not ONCE mentioned the President of the United States is coming to Kansas? Why hasn't this blog ONCE posted about the Ryun Jenkins primary poll numbers....and why on EARTH aren't you trying to spin the new Rasmussen poll against Slattery?
you betray a depressing lack of any political sense the longer you ignore political news and the more you push stories that weren't ever stories to begin with.
we have such little political sense, yet for some reason you keep coming back for more.... hmmm
because crazy is fun to read!
i had heard the thing about Jordan, too...but I'd heard that it was John Vratil trying to convince him to drop the event.
Another silly post about Shanan Guinn, someone nobody outside of a handful of campaign "junkies" knows or cares about. SRK appears to be in its death throes and this seems to be the only active Republican blog so we keep coming back hoping for something but all we get is irrelevant crap. And the rumor that Jordan is trying to cancel Bush is off. If anything, the White House and Jordan's staff are trying to decide whether anyone will show up; no one wants an emabarrasment. The visit will be cancelled if attendance and fundraising appear to be pitiful which I hear may be the case.
No more pitiful than the event Sebelius is going to be doing for James Bordanaro the same day.
jordan's been warned by the JOCO republicans that a mod might come out of the woodwork and run against him if he tries to get too chummy with the President's people...this might be a sign of that.
Not a chance. No credible candidate is going to run against Jordan. It's not that everyone loves Nick; it's that no one believes that Moore can lose this year so why bother. This smells to all like a Dem year so credible Republican candidates are thinking 2010.
By the way, boys, if you think $3,150 is a big deal you're younger and more under-employed than we thought. Chump change and not worth a post.
Now Wild Bill joins Wyatt in commenting on his own post and trying to step all over it. Although Wild Bill sounds very much like Wyatt - hmmm. You guys really can't stop tripping over each other can you?
the post is so non-news...particularly in the face of real news...like the poll that shows Roberts vulnerable, and the dueling polls in the 2nd dist. republican primary...
boys...cover the news
I'd love to see the polls that show Roberts is vulnerable to . . . .Jim Slattery?! Sorry, not believable.
And which "dueling polls" are you referring to in the 2nd District? The one that has Jenkins down 16% or the one that has her down 41%? Is there another one out there whipped up by the crack team that gave her the "Hey, you're only down by 16% after our push poll!"
jenkins has been saying in e-mails that her "independent" polling shows her in the lead 48-41.
and the new Rasmussen poll of the Senate race does indeed show Roberts is vulnerable...he barely breaks 50 before any ads have been run attacking him.
in other news...national republicans are trying to de-emphasis the party's classic stands on abortion and gays in an effort to re-mainstream themselves.
good luck, kids.
I don't like what you guys are saying. It does not fit with my agenda and could hurt my cause.
So you guys are dumb and write about things nobody cares about. And you guys are dumb.
Please only write about things that make some Republicans made at other Republicans and stop writing about democrats, and also you guys are dumb.
aww...we hurt it's feelings.
no...please, write about democrats...but how about writing about the biggest political news of the day?
why not try that?
