Earlier this morning, the DC-based Politico newspaper highlighted our allegation that either Nancy Boyda plagiarized Jerry Moran's op-ed in the Eagle, or Moran plagiarized Boyda.
Boyda's Chief of Staff, Shanan Guinn, shrugged off the reporter's question with an unintelligible joke. However, plagiarism is not something the media takes lightly and is possibly the one and only rule that unites journalists, novelists and bloggers or all colors, creeds and partisan convictions. Plagiarism derailed Joe Biden's presidential campaign, discolored the legacy of Stephen Ambrose and probably even got one of your high school classmates kicked out of English class.
This is what I know to be true. Boyda's defenders continue to point to a press release that Honor Flight allegedly sent out to both camps. However, none of the infinite Boyda defenders in the blogosphere (and there are many) has been able to produce this release. Secondly, the contact that Moran, and subsequently Boyda, had on their oped/letter was for a gentleman that lives in Rooks county, well buried in the 1st district and quite far from Boyda's district.
And so I ask again. Did Moran plagiarize Boyda, did Boyda plagiarize Moran or is there some press release that they both pulled for their writing? If Kansas media cares about plagiarism, they should demand this "mystery" release. But someone needs to be held to account.

eh. Non story...even Politico put it in the gossip column
Yeah. Whatever you'd like to think Shanan.
Why don't you ask the deans at Washburn if they think that congressional plagiarism is a non-story?
I can't believe this didn't even get mentioned in primebuzz or weblog. Classic Kansas media.
There are only a handful of Boyda mentions in the news per week. But of course Boyda has the luxury of having her media friends let this one slip down the crack.
Shanannanana, nanannanana, goodbye!
Honestly, Shanan how do you keep your job?
oh, kids...you all know no one in the whole district cares about 1. who shanan guinn is and 2. whether or not some weird ass story ran in a DC newspaper's gossip column.
it didn't run in any kansas paper because it isn't a big deal..at least it isn't a big enough deal for Jerry Moran to care.
fine something real to report...like, for instance, that jenkins spit in ryun's face when he asked her not to be "dirty" in the campaign
We are working on some new angles on Boyda now, also, I think our readers will find some of the new revelations about Shanan that we have come across to be very interesting.
If I recall correctly, Joe Biden's plagiarism started out as just some stupid rumor. It is now generally accepted that the speech which Biden riped off some British parlimentarian was the principle reason his candidacy sank.
It only took 'macaca' for Allen to lose in '06, and he had a much greater margin of error.
did you know that if you google "sebelius george tiller" your blog is the second link to pop up?
Sebelius and Tiller are Chefs Extraordinaire. They must be busy preparing another culinary delight for their next Fete.
I think Tiller does most of the preparation, and Sebelius simply serves up the dish. Is that right, Wyatt?
Well, I see you're back to posting your nonstories again. I have no idea who Shanan is nor do 99% of voters and 95% of politicos so your constant posts about her are creepy - blog stalking? Might as well tie her to coal and then you'd really be ecstatic.
we aren't going to beat boyda with things like this, we'll only bet her if we talk about the issues.
stick to the economy, stick to the war...otherwise you're going to get laughed off the stage.
We're not going to beat Boyda with Jim Ryun. A vote for Jim Ryun is a vote for Nancy Boyda. Right Wing Republicans either need to face the facts now or fact them in November.
Riiightt. Because Ryun only won the seat 5 times in a row. . . .solid logic there.
Still recovering from the "we're getting whupped by 35%" bitch slap, Team Jenkins? BTW, how is your polling going? Seems odd that you've been in the field for a few weeks yet no results have been released. Not going well?
The Speaker Pro Tem of the Kansas House of Representatives quits the Legislature, and all you can manage to do is flog the same tired Boyda staffer horse?
Good grief, boys. Grow some perspective.
95% of incumbents who lose and try to run again ... lose again.
and nearly every incumbent gets re-elected.
listen to miss anon...this was a waste-of-time post when there are much more interesting fish to fry.
Drew, Ned, stop blogging, you do have jobs don't you?
it's kind of arrogant (or is it just annoying...i can't decide) for the jenkins people to think those of us who post here in support of ryun have to be his kids.
you know what...the man was re-elected 5 times, why is it shocking there are THOUSANDS of people who might still like him?
Oh, please.....
fine, yes, i'm ned ryun...spending countless hours here defending my father in front of the 50 people who visit this blog each day.
lynn...this is why you're losing...yo u have supporters who are stupid enough to air their dumb opinions in public.
since boyda has endorsed obama do you think that means she's going to fire shanan?
Ahem, Ned, you moron, why are you spending your time defending the indefensible, shouldn't you be out knocking on doors, or getting your dad his daily cup of coffee at seven eleven?
this democrat LOVES the ryun & jenkins supporters on this blog...it makes me feel so good!
I can't believe Nancy Boyda hasn't admitted to copying yet. What does that say about her as a person?
HaHa! I don't think Ned even lives in KS right now, dumbass.
Speaking of going door to door, did anyone see that Ryun went door to door in Nancy Boyda and Lynn Jenkins' neighborhoods?
