Sebelius, Tillergate, Communiongate, Hyperion, NBAF, etc.

First the Governor's office claims that it was a blind auction, so they "didn't know" that Tiller and his abortion staff were coming to Cedar Crest. Now, we find out that it wasn't until last week, after this scandal started to percolate, that the citizens of Kansas we reimbursed for the abortionist soiree/ political hoopla that occurred a year earlier. The excuse: "there was turnover in our staff."

Either the Sebelius administration doesn't understand the moral repugnance that millions of Kansans feel at the thought of their tax dollars going towards a party for an abortionist and his staff, or the Governor has the financial management skills of Overland Park high school cheerleader. The difference is irrelevant. Tillergate at Cedar Crest is a first-order scandal.

Meanwhile, Sebelius was in Dallas trying to secure her post as energy secretary in an Obama administration, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour signed an $88 million state bond bill to secure NBAF, a Washington Post columnist continues to discuss Kathy's communiongate and Union County, South Dakota residents head to the polls to determine the fate of the $10 billion Hyperion oil refinery that could have gone to Kansas.

How can any Republican be critical of Sebelius' financial management? The GOP has given us the largest increase in spending and size of government ... even greater growth in government than under New Deal. Also, how is the GOP doing with the economy? Housing crisis, credit crisis, energy crisis, inflation, currency devaluation, etc. Don't even get me started on the $6 trillion dollar cost over-run in Iraq.

Republicans still like to talk about fiscal responsibility, smaller government, etc. But, they're lying. The record doesn't
support the rhetoric. This blog needs to stop pretending like its 1994 and admit that that the GOP has zero credibility on the issues that it espouses.

how does this change anything? this story is in every major paper in the state and a complete embarrassment for the governor. Talking about the new deal or contract with america doesn't really make a difference.

Good example of why we won't win. We have Sebelius on the Tiller thing; not because of abortion, per se, but because she entertained a group under investigation and in litigation. Hammer her on this. By going over the top on abortion and tying this to the ridiculous Hyperion thing, we step all over our own message. Most Kansas voters don't know who Tiller is or know what NBAF or Hyperion are. They do recognize clearly defined ethical lapses. Instead, we get this mixed bag of messages and the quotes from Kinzer and Huelscamp. Will we ever learn? The gang of old guys who run the House absolutely hate Sebelius - frustration, jealosy, etc. because she's succeeded and they haven't. Their obsession with her gets in the way of putting forth good policy and now their financial ties to Sunflower have injected coal into everything. These bloggers suffer from same problem.

joy of joys...it's another one of your orgasm posts- hit sebelius on communion, abortion, and hyperion.

if you could have just mentioned coal & Shanan Guinn...

you just can't ever get them all in the same place at once, can you?

btw...the commercial lynn jenkins recorded endorsing jim ryun in 2004 is back on the air.

Republicans can be critical of Sebelius on the growth of jobs in the governmental sector in Kansas compared to private sector job growth (or in this case lack of private sector growth).

Anonymous #2 asked how the GOP is doing with the economy .... maybe they don't know that the Democrats are in charge of both the Senate and House in Washington .... and when you are in charge they should be out front leading the efforts on policy to improve the economy .... I have yet to hear them express their economic plans to get economy rolling.

Hey, your comparison is odious. Quit insulting cheerleaders.

$835 is nothing compared to the millions that Sebelius has allowed Tiller to make by protecting him from even common oversight.

Uhm, guys, you are complaining about tax dollars supporting an abortionist in a post about reimbursement for the state. Try to get it straight if possible.

Best line of the month. Kobach calling national convention delegates diverse and reflective of all Republicans and Kansans in an article listing, in the 3rd district, an entire slate of Phill Kline/Operation Rescue fanatics. I'm sure that the other delegates will be impressed with Kansas when thy meet this group in Minneapolis. Our only hope is that most of them can't afford hotel rooms and will have to park the double wides in Mankato thereby being somewhat out of sight.

The GOP has become the white trash party. The Republican message tends to do the best with lower-class, under-educated, white people in rural areas.

Don't be mean. Republicans are good people ... only confused.

Wow. Who let in the angry little trolls? Is that you, Lurch? Shouldn't you be out following someone around?

Does anyone around here care that Sebelius violated the Logan Act by attending the Bilderberg meeting in Istanbul in 2007 and Virginia in 2008?
